Dear partner,

Since 2020 we measure and evaluate our performance regarding sustainability. From 2022 on, we communicate our goals, our results, our progress and our challenges to stakeholders. We identify opportunities to drive even greater impact across our business and society. Setting goals across a broad range of ESG issues demonstrates our commitment, reinforces accountability and helps to drive ongoing improvement.

The Hosokawa Micron Group has decided to report its sustainability goals, achievements and targets to the Tokyo Stock Exchange in 2022. As part of the Hosokawa Micron Group and because we share this ambition, we will also participate in this external reporting from 2023 on. We developed our 2030 targets through extensive engagement with Hosokawa Micron executives, subject matter experts across the company and external stakeholders. Industry and cross-industry benchmarking and our most recent materiality assessment, also informed the process.

Our aim is to design our processes in such a way that they best meet environmental, resource efficiency, health and safety requirements, while taking economic factors into account. Current and planned processes are therefore systematically analysed across the three topics of Environment, Society and Governance (ESG).

Our approach to corporate responsibility focuses on delivering business value by addressing the ESG issues that matter most to our company and our stakeholders, while also addressing the key risk factors that may impact the long-term sustainability of our business. This corporate responsibility is addressed in all our business processes, both internally and externally with our supply chains. As an innovative business partner, we continuously help our customers to reduce their carbon footprint by designing and engineering production systems that are as sustainable and safe as possible. This is a key driver of our growth and development.

In 2016, the United Nations launched the Global Goals for Sustainable Development (SDGs), a roadmap to a more environmentally and socially conscious and responsible world by 2030. At Hosokawa Micron, we believe that businesses have a key role to play in achieving the SDGs. We believe that our competencies in health, climate and energy, resources and circularity make a positive contribution to achieving the SDGs.
