Hosokawa Micron B.V. acquires ASME certification

Hosokawa Micron B.V. are proud to have been certified as an ASME U-Stamp authorized manufacturer for the manufacture of pressure vessels. The ASME Certification Mark, which is regarded as the hallmark of acceptance and certification, is used to indicate that the stamped item(s) conform to the ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Codes (BPVCs).

The company may use the label, demonstrating compliance with laws and regulations in almost all states of the USA and Canadian provinces. In Europe, the ASME code is often prescribed as part of a contract for supplying pressure equipment. Outside Europe, the code is a must.

Hosokawa Micron B.V. already were certified to produce pressure vessels according to AD-2000 HPO and ISO 3834-2 since 2015. Now that the company is also ASME certified, they are allowed to put UM stamps on pressure vessels up to 140 liters themselves at their production facility in the Netherlands. Larger vessels have to be certified individually by an independent authorized inspector.

Added flexibility, knowledge, security and competitiveness

"In the past, we had all pressure vessels manufactured externally. However in recent years, we noticed that we were not able to offer pressure vessels competitively," says Bert Lasker, Manager QSHE (Quality, Safety, Health & Environment) at Hosokawa Micron B.V.

"An increasing desire for flexibility, knowledge and the wish to better meet customer-specific requirements led Hosokawa Micron B.V. to decide to start the ASME certification process, with a positive result for the company as well as our customers."
