HOSOKAWA MICRON B.V. is a global supplier of process equipment and systems for the mechanical and thermal processing of dry and wet powders. The company has extensive facilities for R&D, testing, manufacturing, toll processing and lifecycle services in Doetinchem, the Netherlands.

As a technology leader in mixing, drying & agglomeration technologies, HOSOKAWA MICRON process solutions are employed in many industries including the chemical, mineral, metallurgical, food, feed, cosmetic, nuclear, pharmaceutical and plastics processing industry.

HOSOKAWA MICRON B.V. proudly celebrated its 100th anniversary in 2023. Founded in Haarlem in 1923 by Mr. J.E. Nauta as NAUTAMIX, the company has come a long way since then. In 1982, the company was acquired by the Japanese Hosokawa Micron Corporation and has grown to include Machinefabriek VRIECO in Zelhem, ISEM in Doetinchem and SCHUGI in Lelystad. The company moved to its current premises in Doetinchem in 1993. CEO Christophe Krug: "We look forward to providing innovative solutions and exceptional service for many years to come."

POWDER ENGINEERING AT ITS BEST

HOSOKAWA MICRON's strong emphasis on system design capability is supported by extensive test facilities to help customers find the optimum solution for their specific application. New developments often take place in collaboration with our customers in our well-equipped Test and Development Centre. Covering over 2000 m² and equipped with 30 machines, it offers unique opportunities to determine the most efficient process, system or plant prior to final design. HOSOKAWA MICRON boasts a competent and responsive after sales service team, offering full support for installation, commissioning, inspection, repair, preventive maintenance and spare parts service, this to ensure operational reliability, optimal equipment performance and customer satisfaction.

    Nautamix HaarlemIn 1923, Mr. J.E. Nauta founded the company Nautamix in Haarlem. This was the birth of today's globally active Hosokawa Micron B.V. From the very beginning, our history has been characterised by an innovative drive.

    Timeline:

    • 1923 Foundation of Nautamix in Haarlem by Mr. J.E. Nauta as a jobber.
    • 1928 Foundation of N.V. Internationale Spinpot Exploitatie Maatschappij (ISEM) in Doetinchem.
    • 1939 Foundation of Machinefabriek Vrieco in Zelhem.
    • 1939 Mr. Nauta invents the conical (batch) mixing principle and produces his first mixing machines.
    • 1954 Schuurmans & Van Ginneken erects Schugi as an independent company for machinery.
    • 1965 Nautamix in Haarlem erects a manufacturing facility in Assen.
    • 1968 Hosokawa Micron Japan first relation with Nautamix for selling mixers in Japan.
    • 1982 Hosokawa Micron in Japan acquires Nautamix Haarlem and Assen.
    • 1983 Hosokawa Micron acquires Vrieco and ISEM.
    • 1987 Bepex USA acquires Schugi.
    • 1987 Nautamix Haarlem and Assen, Vrieco Zelhem and Isem Doetinchem merge into Hosokawa Micron B.V.
    • 1992 Hosokawa Micron Japan acquires Bepex USA, including Schugi.
    • 1993 Hosokawa Micron B.V. relocate all their operations to a new premises in Doetinchem.
    • 2000 Schugi is merged into Hosokawa Micron B.V. and relocates to Doetinchem.

      The brand name Alpine has a rich history that goes back more than a century. In 1987, Alpine AG was acquired by the Hosokawa Micron Group.

    Being a leader in mixing, drying & agglomeration technologies, Hosokawa Micron is constantly seeking for improvement, new technologies and new applications. Frequently, new developments take place in co-operation with our customers and with the use of our well equipped Test Centre, where all our equipment is available at a semi-industrial scale. Many times equipment is modified in order to meet the customers’ requirements for individual processes.
